Bhubaneswar: To reinforce gender-sensitive workplaces and empower institutional mechanisms against harassment, the Department of Women & Child Development (W&CD), in collaboration with UNFPA, organised a comprehensive virtual training session on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
The training, conducted from the W&CD Conference Hall, brought together Internal Committee (IC) members from across Odisha, marking a significant step in sensitising stakeholders about the legal and procedural aspects of the POSH Act. The session saw wide participation and engagement from IC members and associated stakeholders statewide.
The event was virtually graced by the Principal Secretary of the W&CD Department, along with the Director of ICDS & Social Welfare and senior departmental officials.
Serving as the resource person, Ms. Anuja Gulati, Programme Management Specialist at UNFPA, offered an in-depth exploration of the legal framework, duties, and challenges associated with the Act. She addressed live queries from participants, shedding light on the evolving role of Internal Committees in safeguarding women’s rights in the workplace.
