Bhubaneswar: In a significant decision aimed at bolstering the delivery of essential services to vulnerable sections of the society, the Odisha State Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has given the nod to the regularization of 504 Contractual Supervisors within the Department of Women and Child Development.
These Contractual Supervisors play a crucial role in implementing programs under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to support women and children in the community. The regularization of their services is expected to ensure uninterrupted and dedicated assistance to those covered under ICDS initiatives in the State.
The decision to regularize the services of these Supervisors comes in response to their demands, as conveyed through their respective Associations, and their representation before the Inter-Ministerial Committee. The government’s approval comes with an additional financial burden of approximately Rs. 18.51 crore per annum.
This move is anticipated to have a positive impact on the recruitment and commitment of educated women from rural and tribal areas. The regularization is expected to inspire these Supervisors to work with dedication, contributing to the overall development of the service delivery system. Additionally, it is likely to enhance the quality of services provided, encouraging optimal performance among the Supervisors. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to promoting the welfare of its employees and ensuring the efficient delivery of essential services to those in need.
