Odisha Sizzles Under Severe Heatwave, Boudh Records 43.6°C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continues to reel under an intense heatwave as temperatures soared above 40°C in several parts of the state today, with Boudh emerging as the hottest location at a scorching 43.6°C.

Weather scientist Umashankar Das reported that multiple regions experienced extreme heat, with Jharsuguda recording 42°C, Balangir at 41.7°C, Angul at 41.1°C, Titlagarh at 40.5°C, Sundargarh at 40.3°C, and Bhawanipatna at 40.2°C. The unrelenting rise in mercury has made conditions increasingly harsh across Odisha.

In response to the severe weather, the state government has issued heatwave alerts, urging people to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors during peak hours, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
