Odisha Shifts School Timings to Mornings from April 2 Amid Intense Heatwave

Bhubaneswar: With the scorching heatwave gripping Odisha, the state government has decided to reschedule school timings, shifting to morning classes from April 2. The announcement was made by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Tuesday.

The move comes as part of a broader effort to protect students from extreme temperatures, which have been rising alarmingly across the state. This decision follows the recent revision of operational hours for Anganwadi Centres, which will now function from 7 AM to 9 AM to safeguard young children and staff from the heat.

With temperatures soaring, officials are closely monitoring the situation and may implement additional measures if conditions worsen. The government has urged schools and parents to take necessary precautions to ensure the well-being of students during this period.
