Odisha Sets Developmental Roadmap at National Conference on Governance Vision for 2036 & 2047

Bhubaneswar: A national conference on “Good Governance and Developed Odisha – 2036 & 2047” was inaugurated today at the Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar. The event brought together senior policymakers, experts, and officials to outline a shared vision for a modern, efficient, and inclusive Odisha over the next two decades.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, inaugurated the conference and emphasized the importance of building a governance model that is resilient, transparent, and future-ready. He called for strategic planning that not only meets current needs but also anticipates the aspirations of future generations.

The event saw the participation of several top bureaucrats, including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration and Public Grievances Department, Surendra Kumar, who shared insights on the state’s governance priorities and progress.

The conference convened Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, and Secretaries from various state departments along with senior officials, policy experts, and academicians. Together, they discussed key policy areas critical to Odisha’s development — including administrative reforms, rural and urban transformation, climate resilience, digital governance, and public service delivery.

As Odisha prepares to mark 100 years of statehood in 2036 and aligns with India’s national vision of becoming a developed country by 2047, the deliberations at the conference are expected to inform a robust and inclusive developmental framework. The goal is to foster a governance ecosystem that promotes growth, equity, and citizen-centric service delivery.

The day-long conference marks a significant step toward integrating institutional wisdom, expert knowledge, and field experience into Odisha’s broader journey of transformation. Recommendations and outcomes from the sessions will contribute to a long-term vision document that guides policy and programmatic action in the years ahead.
