Odisha Sanctions ₹1.73 Cr for Development of 11 Colleges, 1 University

Bhubaneswar: The State Higher Education Department has sanctioned ₹1.73 crore under the ‘Ama Gourav Ama College’ scheme for development works in 11 colleges and one university across Odisha.

The financial assistance will be utilised to upgrade academic and campus infrastructure, with emphasis on creating modern and student-friendly learning environments. The institutions selected for funding include Ravenshaw University, Agalpur Panchayat Samiti Degree College, Bijepur Degree College, Salepur Autonomous College, Biren Mitra Memorial Women’s Degree College, Panchayat Degree College, Kalla, Hindol Degree College, Mahima Degree College, Belaguntha Science Degree College, Naktideul Degree College, Government Autonomous College, Phulbani, and Jasoda Bishnu College.

Officials said the sanctioned amount will support multiple development projects, including strengthening library resources, construction and upgradation of laboratories, development of sports and academic complexes, installation of Wi-Fi connectivity, and deployment of CCTV surveillance systems.

The initiative is expected to modernise campus facilities, improve teaching and learning standards, and provide enhanced academic exposure for students. By addressing institution-specific needs, the scheme seeks to raise the overall quality of higher education across the State.

The ‘Ama Gourav Ama College’ scheme reflects the government’s focus on targeted investment in education infrastructure to promote academic excellence and inclusive development.
