Odisha Reviews Industrial Growth Strategy, Focuses on Investor Outreach and Project Implementation

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday reviewed the progress of industrial projects, investment promotion activities and ease of doing business initiatives during a high-level meeting of the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICOL) chaired by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain.

The meeting focused on accelerating industrial growth in the state through improved project monitoring, investor facilitation and digital governance measures aimed at strengthening Odisha’s position as a preferred investment destination.

Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, Managing Director of Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited Aboli Naravane and other senior officials of IPICOL attended the review meeting.

During the discussions, the Minister reviewed the status of grounded industrial projects, ongoing industrial activities and preparations for upcoming investment roadshows.

Emphasising the need to convert investment proposals into operational projects, Swain directed sectoral nodal officers to adopt a more proactive and industry-friendly approach to support investors and facilitate smoother implementation of projects.

The meeting also reviewed Odisha’s progress in improving the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ecosystem and deployment of digital systems designed to simplify approvals and industrial services.

Officials discussed plans for adopting a structured framework centred on data-driven investor targeting, stronger project monitoring through district-level agencies and strategic outreach programmes to attract both domestic and global investments.

The Minister stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among departments and agencies to ensure timely execution of projects and strengthen Odisha’s image as a competitive industrial hub.

Officials said the state government is focusing on infrastructure development, policy reforms and investor facilitation to accelerate industrialisation and employment generation across Odisha.
