
Bhubaneswar: The temperature in Odisha crossed 35°C for the first time this season, signaling the arrival of summer. Paralakhemundi recorded the highest temperature at 35.6°C, followed by Jharsuguda at 35.2°C and Bolangir at 35°C, according to weather scientist Umashankar Dash.
Several other locations also experienced rising temperatures, with Sambalpur and Hirakud recording 34.7°C and Bhawanipatna reaching 34°C.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for dense fog on Sunday morning across multiple districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Khordha, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal.
In response, the Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued an advisory to police and transport authorities, urging them to regulate vehicular movement on highways to prevent accidents due to poor visibility.
