Odisha Prepares for Second Phase of Subhadra Assistance Release

Bhubaneswar: To empower women and vulnerable groups, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg reviewed the state government’s preparations for the release of the second phase of the first installment of the Subhadra assistance scheme. The review meeting, held at Lok Seva Bhawan, saw the participation of key officials, including Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the State Information and Public Relations Department, and Shubha Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department.

During the meeting, Garg emphasized the need for a seamless transfer of financial assistance to the bank accounts of beneficiaries. The state government is aiming to identify all eligible recipients by March 8, 2025, with plans to distribute the first installment to 1 crore beneficiaries. Garg also discussed technical measures to ensure smooth disbursal during the second phase, scheduled for October 9.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that the second phase will mark a significant milestone, with 98 lakh applicants already registered under the scheme. Officials have been instructed to complete all necessary arrangements by October 6 to facilitate a timely rollout.

In an effort to improve the program’s outreach and impact, the Development Commissioner suggested implementing a feedback collection process to gauge beneficiaries’ enthusiasm and understand how the Subhadra financial assistance is transforming their lives.
