Odisha Prepares for EVM Counting with Enhanced Security Measures

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal announced on Sunday that 95 companies of Central Police Forces (CPF) will be deployed across the state to ensure smooth and secure counting of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on June 4 and to maintain law and order.

In the recently concluded four-phase Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, a record 185 CPF companies were deployed in Odisha to oversee the electoral process. Following the elections, 25 companies were retained to secure EVM strongrooms and counting centers. In anticipation of potential post-election law and order issues, an additional 70 companies of CPF have been deployed in the state.

CEO Dhal emphasized the state’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly counting process.

With the counting of votes scheduled for June 4, all eyes are on Odisha as it prepares for a pivotal moment in its democratic process.
