
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is embarking on a transformative journey to reshape its urban landscape with the launch of the Atal Network for Knowledge, Urbanisation & Reforms (ANKUR) initiative. In a key development, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development (H&UD), Usha Padhee chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials and urban experts to outline the framework for sustainable urban growth and reform in the state.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around the implementation of smart governance, climate-resilient infrastructure, and inclusive urbanization, all in alignment with the vision of Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047. The main objective is to create cities that foster economic growth while ensuring a high quality of life for all citizens.
Padhee underlined that ANKUR will serve as a collaborative platform for innovation and knowledge-sharing, bringing together expertise from various sectors to drive solutions for Odisha’s urban challenges. The initiative aims to integrate data-driven decision-making, technology adoption, and community participation to ensure equitable and sustainable urban development across the state.
With a focus on capacity-building, infrastructure modernization, and digital transformation, ANKUR is set to become the driving force behind Odisha’s urban evolution. The initiative will strengthen institutions and scale best practices, positioning the state as a model for other regions in terms of inclusive urban planning and sustainable growth.
