Bhubaneswar: A high-level review meeting of General Managers of District Industries Centres (GM-DICs) was held in Bhubaneswar on Monday to assess last year’s performance and chart out the roadmap for 2026–27, with a focus on strengthening Odisha’s MSME ecosystem.
The meeting, held at the O-HUB conference hall, was chaired by MSME and Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik, who emphasised the sector’s critical role in driving economic growth and employment.
Reviewing achievements of the previous financial year, the Minister directed officials to address field-level challenges more proactively and ensure effective implementation of schemes. He instructed all departmental offices to adopt quarterly action plans aimed at achieving 100 per cent utilisation of allocated budgets.
Mallik also set clear timelines for the disposal of pending policy cases, stressing the need for faster decision-making to support enterprise growth. Highlighting the importance of “Ease of Doing Business,” he urged DIC officials to extend immediate hand-holding support to young and emerging entrepreneurs at the grassroots level.
The Minister further called for aligning district-level efforts with the broader vision of “Viksit Odisha @2036” and “Viksit Bharat-2047,” directing that performance tracking mechanisms be strengthened under the supervision of District Collectors.
