Cuttack: In a moving display of compassion and quick action, Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development Minister, Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, came to the rescue of a family injured in a road accident near Telengapentha, just outside Cuttack city.
The incident occurred earlier today when a family of four — Ananta Kumar Sahu, his wife, and their two children — met with a severe accident on the roadside. Coincidentally passing through the area, Dr. Mahapatra witnessed the distressing scene and immediately stopped his convoy to intervene.
Without hesitation, the Minister directed his escort team to assist in the rescue. One of his official vehicles was used to transport the injured family to the nearest hospital, ensuring they received immediate medical care. Dr. Mahapatra personally supervised the rescue and remained at the site until the victims were safely on their way to treatment.
He also issued instructions to the hospital authorities to provide urgent and quality care to the injured. His swift response and humane gesture won praise from locals and onlookers, many of whom witnessed the rare moment of direct public service from a high-ranking official.
“This is the kind of leadership that inspires confidence in the system,” said a local resident present at the spot. “He didn’t think twice. He acted like a true public servant.”
The timely intervention not only saved lives but also highlighted the Minister’s hands-on approach to public welfare and his deep sense of duty toward the people of Odisha.
