Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mandap has once again brought pride to the state by winning the silver medal at the prestigious 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This achievement marks the third consecutive year that Odisha has been recognized at the event, highlighting its consistency in excellence and thematic presentation.

The award for thematic presentation was received by Vishal Gagan, Principal Resident Commissioner of Odisha in New Delhi, from Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). He was accompanied by Additional Director Santosh Kumar Das, Director of Odisha Mandap Ashwini Kumar Bhoi, and Exhibition Officer Deepak Kumar Sahu during the felicitation ceremony.

Themed “Vikshit Bharat, Vikshit Odisha” (Developed India, Developed Odisha), the Odisha Mandap mesmerized visitors with a design that seamlessly combined the state’s ancient architectural brilliance with modern technological progress. The pavilion’s entrance featured a striking replica of the Mukteswar Temple gate, while the interiors showcased intricate models of the Konark Sun Temple, Ratnagiri’s Buddhist relics, and a futuristic bullet train, symbolizing Odisha’s evolution from its cultural heritage to advancements in modernization.

Organized under the supervision of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Odisha government, the pavilion featured 25 stalls that highlighted goods and crafts made by Odisha’s skilled artisans. The Odisha Mandap attracted over five lakh visitors during the 14-day event, contributing to business transactions exceeding ₹55 lakh. The pavilion also generated significant interest from international buyers, eager to explore Odisha’s unique offerings and bolster trade ties.

The India International Trade Fair, which commenced on November 14 and concluded on November 27, provided a global stage for states across India to showcase their achievements. Odisha Mandap’s recognition for the third consecutive year reaffirms its status as a favorite among visitors, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage and developmental achievements.
