
The state government includes ‘Environmental Study and Disaster Management’ in the syllabus of Undergraduation on Friday.
State Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo informed that the new revised syllabus will be introduced from this academic session.
The new subject will be mandatory for first year students in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The 4-unit syllabus will carry 100 marks in the first semester examination.
During a cabinet meeting held on 29 May 2021, Odisha Government decided to introduce disaster and pandemic preparedness as part of curriculum in schools and colleges.
As per the decision, the State Higher Education Department has revised the existing syllabus of ‘Environmental Science’ as ‘Environmental Study and Disaster Management’.
