
Bhubaneswar: Reinforcing its commitment to responsive and people-centric governance, the Housing & Urban Development Department of Odisha held a focused review meeting on the occasion of Civil Services Day to deliberate on key reform priorities and service delivery improvements.
The meeting took place at the 3rd Floor Conference Hall of Kharabela Bhawan and was chaired by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of the H&UD Department and Chairperson of IDCO. Senior officials of the department participated in the discussions.
Deliberations focused on strengthening governance frameworks through streamlined administrative processes, enhanced transparency, and improved institutional mechanisms to better address citizens’ needs. Officials reviewed ongoing initiatives and identified areas where efficiency and accountability can be further improved.
Addressing the gathering, Padhee said Civil Services Day provides an opportunity to renew the commitment to integrity, empathy, and accountability in public service. She stressed that reforms must lead to visible improvements in citizens’ lives by making governance more accessible and efficient.
The department collectively reaffirmed its resolve to advance a citizen-first approach in governance, aligning public service delivery with the evolving aspirations of the people.
