Odisha Govt Warns Ineligible Beneficiaries of Subhadra Yojana, Verification Underway

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has issued a stern warning against ineligible beneficiaries who have availed funds under the Subhadra Yojana. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida today cautioned that strict action will be taken against individuals found to have received benefits without meeting the eligibility criteria.

Addressing the media, Parida urged ineligible recipients to come forward and confess before the second installment of Subhadra Yojana funds is disbursed. “If anyone has availed Subhadra money without meeting the criteria, they will face punishment after the department conducts its enquiry,” she stated.

The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of completing the e-KYC process through biometric verification for eligible beneficiaries to continue receiving benefits. “Eligible beneficiaries must complete their e-KYC without delay. This is essential to ensure funds are distributed to those who truly deserve them,” she added.

To address grievances, Parida advised eligible beneficiaries who have been left out to lodge complaints through Anganwadi workers. “If anyone considers herself eligible but hasn’t received the benefit, she must file a grievance via Anganwadi workers, who will forward it to the block office. After proper review, the eligible beneficiaries will receive the benefits. This process will continue until the last rightful beneficiary gets the money,” she clarified.

Amid the ongoing verification process, the government has temporarily paused the disbursement of the fourth phase of the first installment, initially scheduled for December 25. The decision has been taken to ensure transparency and verify beneficiaries thoroughly.

Earlier, the third phase of the Subhadra Yojana saw funds being disbursed to 20 lakh women beneficiaries on November 24. To date, a total of 80 lakh women across Odisha have benefitted from this flagship welfare scheme.
