
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has successfully transferred ₹1,250 crore to the bank accounts of more than 25 lakh women beneficiaries under the newly launched Subhadra Yojana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the women-centric scheme at a grand event held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women in Odisha, will provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries aged between 21 and 60 years. Each beneficiary will receive ₹50,000, disbursed in annual installments of ₹10,000 over five years. The scheme is expected to uplift women by supporting their financial independence and growth. So far, 76 lakh women have registered for the program.
During the event, PM Modi also announced significant infrastructure investments for Odisha, unveiling railway and national highway projects worth over ₹3,800 crore. These include railway projects valued at ₹2,871 crore and national highway projects worth ₹1,000 crore, further boosting the state’s development.
