Odisha Govt to Rename LAccMI Bus Services to ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’

Bhubaneswar: The newly-formed Odisha government has announced the renaming of the ongoing (Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative) bus services to ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’. This initiative, which connects panchayat to block headquarters, will soon operate under the new name, as confirmed by Transport, Mines, and Steel Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.

“There is no political agenda in our schemes. They are solely for public welfare,” Jena stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing seamless transportation services. The renaming aims to resonate with the people, celebrating the Chief Minister’s role in this initiative.

The ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’ will officially commence from all blocks in the state on the occasion of Rath Yatra. Importantly, the bus fares will remain unchanged, ensuring affordability for the public.

The original LAccMI scheme, launched by former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 12, 2023, aimed to enhance public transport across Odisha.
