Odisha Govt Signs MoU with CK-12 Foundation to Enhance AI-Powered Education

Bhubaneswar: In a significant step toward transforming education in Odisha, the School & Mass Education Department of the Government of Odisha signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CK-12 Foundation on February 3, 2025, at Lok Seva Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. The agreement was signed by Shalini Pandit, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, and Neeru Khosla, Founder and Executive Director of CK-12 Foundation, in the presence of Chief Secretary of Odisha, Manoj Ahuja, IAS.

The collaboration aims to provide world-class educational resources to students, teachers, and schools across Odisha. CK-12 Foundation, a not-for-profit education technology organization, is committed to offering free access to content and technology tools that empower students and teachers by catering to different learning styles, skill levels, and educational needs.

The MoU focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the education system, ensuring personalized learning experiences and enhancing student engagement and retention. AI-driven tools will allow students to learn at their own pace, adapting lessons based on individual strengths and weaknesses. Teachers will receive AI-powered support in grading, attendance, and lesson planning, enabling them to focus more on mentoring. Schools will benefit from a data-driven approach to track student progress and improve educational outcomes. With offline accessibility and subject-specific learning tools, this initiative will bridge educational gaps and promote equity in education across Odisha.

Speaking at the event, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja emphasized the growing role of AI in governance, particularly in improving efficiency and decision-making in administrative processes. He highlighted that AI can streamline public service delivery through AI-powered chatbots and automated grievance redressal systems. He also noted that AI-driven training programs for government officials using virtual simulations and real-time feedback would enhance decision-making capabilities.

Ahuja further stated that leveraging AI in education and governance will ensure better public services, foster transparency, and improve the overall quality of life for citizens. This landmark partnership between the Odisha Government and CK-12 Foundation marks a new era in digital education, preparing students for future technological advancements while strengthening Odisha’s education ecosystem.
