Odisha Govt Reviews Energy Conservation Initiatives

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: In a significant move toward enhancing energy efficiency, senior officials of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) presented forthcoming strategies for energy conservation at a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Empowerment, and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, at Kharavela Bhawan on Wednesday.

The meeting explored collaborative efforts with the Odisha government to provide energy-efficient appliances at affordable prices to consumers. Key schemes, including Urjaveer and GovEasEE, were discussed in detail, with a short film outlining their objectives and implementation plans screened during the session.

One of the pivotal topics of discussion was the replacement of outdated electrical appliances, such as fans, in government offices with energy-efficient alternatives. Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo emphasized the importance of these initiatives and directed department officials to thoroughly evaluate the schemes and expedite their implementation.

Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, Vishal Dev, Chief Engineer-in-Charge Pyarimohan Mishra, and senior officials from EESL were present at the meeting, highlighting the state’s focus on fostering sustainable energy practices.
