Odisha Govt Orders Strict Compliance on Postings, Warns of Salary Stoppage for Violating Officers

Bhubaneswar: The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment has issued a stern directive to officers promoted or transferred, instructing them to immediately join their assigned postings without delay.

In a notification issued by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the department expressed serious concern over delays in compliance with transfer and posting orders. The directive clearly states that any officer failing to join their designated post by August 31, 2025 (for transfer orders already issued) will face disciplinary action, and their salary will not be drawn from the establishment they were transferred out of.

The notification further warned that any attempt to exert undue or extraneous influence for alteration or modification of posting orders will be dealt with sternly. Heads of directorates and officials of field establishments have been instructed to closely monitor compliance and report instances of non-joining.

The department emphasized that the order has been issued to ensure the smooth functioning of offices at the grassroots level, where delays in officers taking charge often affect service delivery and governance.
