
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced an increase in the minimum wages for workers across the state, effective immediately. According to the new notification, the daily minimum wages for unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled workers have been raised to Rs 450, Rs 500, Rs 550, and Rs 600 respectively.
This decision, which aims to enhance the financial well-being of workers in scheduled occupations, was approved by the State Cabinet on July 10, 2024. The revision aligns with the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The increased wages will directly benefit a significant number of workers employed in various sectors across the state, ensuring they receive fair compensation for their labor.
