Odisha Govt Forms Committee to Address Nursing Employees’ Demands, Urges Immediate Resumption of Duties

Bhubaneswar: In response to the concerns raised by the Odisha Nursing Employees’ Association (ONEA), the state government has announced the formation of an Inter-Departmental Committee to thoroughly examine the various demands put forth by the association. The committee will deliberate on the issues and propose potential solutions aimed at addressing the grievances of nursing officers across the state.

The demands of ONEA, which represent a significant portion of the state’s healthcare workforce, have been under discussion, prompting the government’s decision to take action through the formation of this dedicated committee.

In light of this development, the government has appealed to the agitating nursing officers to reconsider their protest and return to work immediately. Citing the critical nature of healthcare services, officials emphasized the importance of ensuring that the state’s hospitals and health facilities continue to function smoothly to meet the medical needs of the public.

“We understand the concerns of the nursing officers and are committed to finding a solution through dialogue. However, we appeal to all nursing staff to prioritize the healthcare needs of the people and resume their duties while we work towards addressing their demands,” a government spokesperson said.
