Odisha Govt Extends Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana Till 2026-27

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move towards enhancing early childhood education, the Odisha Government has decided to extend the Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana until the financial year 2026-27. This State Sector Scheme focuses on providing essential clothing and accessories to pre-school children in the age group of 3 to 6 years enrolled in Anganwadi Centres across the State.

As per the existing provisions of the scheme, each child receives two sets of pre-school uniforms with prescribed color compositions, along with one pair of shoes & socks and a sweater. The State Cabinet has recently granted approval to extend the scheme’s duration, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the holistic development of young minds.

Starting from the financial year 2024-25, the scheme will undergo enhancements. Boys will now receive two pairs of uniforms priced at Rs. 100 per pair, while girls will be provided with two pairs of shirts with divided skirts at Rs. 150 per pair. Additionally, each child will receive one pair of shoes and socks priced at Rs. 100 and one sweater at Rs. 150. These measures are aimed at furthering the well-being and comfort of the young beneficiaries, fostering a conducive learning environment.

The extension and enhancements of the Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana underscore the government’s commitment to early childhood education and the overall development of children in the State.
