Odisha Govt Assigns 30 Senior IAS Officers for District Visits to Strengthen Governance and Service Delivery

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to bolster the effectiveness of government programs, the Odisha government has designated 30 senior IAS officers to conduct regular visits to districts across the state. The initiative aims to improve administrative efficiency, ensure the smooth implementation of government schemes, and address local challenges more effectively.

The directive was issued on Tuesday by Development Commissioner Anu Garg, who instructed senior officials and Secretaries to plan their district visits until March 2025. As part of the initiative, each officer will be required to spend at least two days every two months visiting their allocated district, including an overnight stay at the district or sub-divisional headquarters.

These visits will focus primarily on inaccessible and tribal-dominated areas, with the officers tasked with identifying on-ground challenges, assessing the implementation of government schemes, and improving administrative outreach in these regions.

The initiative is designed to provide a hands-on approach to governance, ensuring that policies and programs are effectively reaching those who need them the most, particularly in underserved areas. By directly engaging with local authorities and citizens, the government aims to foster better communication, prompt resolution of issues, and ensure that government schemes are being delivered efficiently.
