Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has taken a significant step to enhance the development of its Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme by nominating senior IAS officers as Secretaries in Charge for 16 identified districts. This initiative aims to review and accelerate progress in these districts, as outlined in a notification issued by the Planning & Convergence Department on Wednesday.
The appointments are part of the state’s efforts to implement the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) and Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) launched by NITI Aayog, which focuses on improving key indicators of development in underperforming districts. The nominated Secretaries will oversee the implementation of various schemes and monitor the performance of these districts.
The specific details of the nominated officers and the districts they will oversee were included in the official notification, which emphasized the importance of strategic leadership and accountability in driving development initiatives forward.
