Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday appointed Chief Secretary IAS Manoj Ahuja as the Working Chairman of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee (SJTMC), entrusting him with a pivotal role in overseeing the administration of the historic temple in Puri.
Manoj Ahuja, who currently serves as the Chief Secretary of Odisha, will now assume additional responsibilities as the Working Chairman of the temple’s management committee. This appointment places him at the helm of the administration and management of one of the most revered temples in India, a role he will fulfill alongside his duties as Chief Secretary.
The appointment is in accordance with the provisions of the Shree Mandir Act of 1955, which governs the administration and management of the Shree Jagannath Temple. The Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee is responsible for the overall management of the temple, ensuring the smooth functioning of its daily operations and preserving its sanctity.
