
Bhubaneswar: In the wake of a surge in Omicron BF.7 sub-variant, the Odisha government on Friday issued fresh guidelines for Covid-19 after Health and Family Welfare department meeting to review the Covid-19 situation in Odisha.
The government has appealed people to follow Covid norms including wearing face masks, hand sanitization, social distancing, self-isolation in case of symptoms among others.
Health Secretary Shalini Pandit said the situation in Odisha has remained stable with below 15 cases per day since November. On most days, it is below 10 cases.
A few countries like China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the USA, France, Brazil and Germany have been experiencing a rise in Omicron cases in the last two weeks.
The state government has decided to continue with the testing and surveillance strategy as per the ICMR guidelines. The surveillance at airports and seaports will be done as per the guidelines issued by the Centre.
