Odisha Government Sanctions Rs 60 Lakh To Feed Stray Animals

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday sanctioned Rs 60 lakh from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to feed stray animals.

The funds will be used to feed stray animals in five Municipal Corporations, 48 municipalities and 61 NACs during the ongoing lockdown. NGOs and social organizations will be engaged to feed stray animals and birds.

State government has fixed the per day cost for all Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and all NAC. While BMC will spend Rs 20,000 daily, CMC, Sambalpur, Berhampur and Rourkela municipal corporations will spend Rs 10,000, whereas Municipalities and NACs are allowed to spend Rs 5000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
