Odisha Government Launches Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana to Enhance Mobility

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to empower and provide enhanced mobility to Mission Shakti federation leaders and Community Support Staff (CSS), the Odisha government has announced the Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible individuals will have access to interest-free loans up to Rs 1 lakh to facilitate the purchase of scooters of their choice, as approved by the state Cabinet led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Chief Secretary PK Jena elaborated on the scheme, stating, “The Odisha Cabinet has granted approval to the Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana, where qualified beneficiaries will receive full interest subvention on bank loans up to Rs 1 lakh, enabling them to acquire their preferred scooters.”

The scheme is set to benefit approximately 75,000 Community Support Staff (CSS) members, which include roles like Community Resource Person, Master Book Keeper, Prani Mitra, Krushi Mitra, Bank Mitra, Livelihood Support Person, Udyag Mitra, Business Development Service Provider, and Business Correspondent Agent.

Additionally, around 1,25,000 Mission Shakti federation leaders, including executive members and office-bearers at the panchayat and ward level federation, block level federation, city level federation, and district level federation, will also be eligible to avail the benefits offered by this visionary initiative.

With an allocated budget of Rs 528.55 crore for the next five years, the state government is committed to ensuring seamless implementation and successful execution of the Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana. This financial support will significantly improve the mobility of beneficiaries, allowing them to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively.
