Odisha FC Signs Forward Rahul KP in a Landmark Transfer from Kerala Blasters

Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC has officially announced the signing of dynamic forward Rahul KP on a permanent transfer from Kerala Blasters FC. The 24-year-old joins the Kalinga Warriors on a contract running until the end of the 2026-27 season, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Rahul KP, who hails from Thrissur, Kerala, brings a wealth of experience to Odisha FC. Having made 89 appearances for Kerala Blasters across various competitions, Rahul has contributed significantly with over 10 goal involvements. His current Indian Super League (ISL) season started on a high note, featuring in 11 matches and scoring a crucial goal in a 3-0 triumph over Chennaiyin FC on November 24, 2024.

Rahul’s journey began in Kerala’s youth system before he rose to prominence during the FIFA U-17 World Cup. His professional debut came with the Indian Arrows in the 2017-18 I-League season, where he made 40 appearances and scored six goals, showcasing his flair and potential on the field.

Odisha FC’s head coach, Sergio Lobera, expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing, stating, “Rahul is a profile of player who can fit very well into our play style. I am sure he will help us improve. I am happy with his arrival.”

The forward himself shared his excitement about the move, emphasizing the unique opportunity presented by Odisha FC. “Ready for this new challenge. Odisha FC is the only team that showed interest in me. So, I am super happy to be here. Most importantly, it’s coach’s call, so that makes it more amazing. Here to give my best, learn, and grow. Rest I leave to the Good God,” said Rahul.

Rahul KP’s signing is a significant addition to Odisha FC’s roster as the club aims to strengthen its attacking lineup for the remainder of the season. With Rahul’s versatility, experience, and proven track record, the Kalinga Warriors are poised for a competitive finish in the ISL and beyond.
