Bhubaneswar: In preparation for the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2025, the Odisha government has established a Central Command Control Centre to ensure seamless coordination and swift response during the high-profile event.
The centre aims to provide timely information and assistance to the approximately 7,000 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) expected to participate in the event. Hosted in Bhubaneswar, the event will celebrate India’s global diaspora and its contributions to the nation.
To facilitate communication, a dedicated helpline number, ‘1929’, has been introduced, allowing attendees to connect with the control centre. An Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system is also being developed to address queries and provide specific event-related information.
The command centre will be staffed by personnel from various departments, including Health & Family Welfare, TPCODL, WATCO, BSNL, Police, Fire Services, Tourism, Transport, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). These teams will ensure that participants receive necessary support and access to critical services.
By setting up this centralized facility, the Odisha government aims to enhance the experience of international guests, ensuring the 18th PBD becomes a well-organized and memorable event.
