Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida Reviews Mission Shakti Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: In a comprehensive review meeting on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida, assessed various schemes and activities under the Department of Mission Shakti, emphasizing its pivotal role in the state’s development.

During the session, Parida acknowledged the substantial progress Mission Shakti has made in empowering women across Odisha. She highlighted the initiative’s significant potential in shaping the socio-economic landscape of a developed Odisha.

The Deputy CM discussed ongoing schemes and activities, stressing their importance in fostering women’s empowerment, enhancing livelihoods, and promoting entrepreneurship among women. A key focus was the preparation of a 100-day work plan aimed at accelerating the implementation of crucial initiatives to achieve tangible outcomes quickly.

Parida reviewed the progress and impact of existing schemes under Mission Shakti, including financial inclusion, capacity building, and market linkage initiatives. She emphasized the formulation of strategies to enhance the reach and effectiveness of these programs, ensuring broader benefits for women across the state. The discussion also covered the importance of strengthening community participation and involvement in Mission Shakti activities to ensure grassroots-level impact and sustainability.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to empowering women, Parida called for concerted efforts from all officials to extend Mission Shakti’s reach to every corner of the state, achieving the vision of a Vikasit Odisha.

The meeting was attended by Shalini Pandit, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Vineet Bhardwaj, IAS, State Mission Director cum CEO of Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM), along with senior government officials and department staff.
