Odisha CM Unveils 389 Transformed Schools in 5 Districts Under 5T Initiative

Bhubaneswar: In a significant stride towards enhancing educational infrastructure, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 389 schools in five districts on Thursday. The transformation of these schools was carried out under the 5T Initiative of the Odisha government in its fourth phase.

The schools, strategically located in Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Bargarh districts, underwent a comprehensive transformation process. The breakdown of transformed schools in each district is as follows: 149 in Ganjam, 11 in Jharsuguda, 57 in Jagatsinghpur, 112 in Kendrapada, and 60 in Bargarh.

This phase of the transformation program aims to cover a total of 1,794 schools across the state. In the preceding three phases, 6,883 schools have already undergone significant developmental changes.

Expressing his vision for a robust Odisha, CM Patnaik highlighted the government’s commitment to transforming not only schools but also colleges, tourist destinations, temples, mutts, and hospitals.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of schools in shaping the future, the Chief Minister stated, “Education paves the way for societal development and progress. Hence, the government prioritizes school transformation.”

The transformed schools are now equipped with smart classrooms, computers, and state-of-the-art laboratories, providing an ideal learning environment for students.

Addressing the students, CM urged them to embrace the principles of the 5T (Teamwork, Technology, Transparency, Time, and Transformation) Initiative in their lives. He also highlighted the government’s provision of a 15% reservation for students in medical and engineering institutions, ensuring a brighter future for them.

The inauguration of these transformed schools marks a significant step towards fostering quality education and creating conducive learning spaces for the youth of Odisha.
