Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday released the third installment of the CM-Kisan scheme, providing financial assistance to over 51 lakh small and marginal farmers across Odisha. Each farmer has received ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The Chief Minister released the funds at a state-level function held at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister K.V. Singh Deo.
Under the CM-Kisan scheme, farmers are provided with ₹4,000 annually in two installments to support their agricultural needs. With the release of this installment, the total disbursal under the scheme has touched ₹1,041 crore.
Officials said the timely financial support will help farmers meet expenses for the 2025–26 Rabi season’s early farming activities. The release of funds also coincided with Nuakhai, the agrarian festival of western Odisha, symbolising prosperity and new harvest.
