Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Urges Voters to Support BJD Candidates in State Elections

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik issued a fervent appeal to the electorate, urging them to cast their votes in favor of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidates contesting for both Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituencies in the state.

Speaking at a public meeting held at Konisi in the Berhampur constituency of Ganjam district, CM Patnaik underscored the importance of voting for candidates with clean records, cautioning against supporting those with criminal backgrounds. During his address, he also highlighted several key initiatives undertaken by his government for the welfare of the people.

Senior BJD leader Kartik Pandian expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, predicting a resounding victory with a strike rate of 90% in the first phase of polls scheduled for May 13 across four Lok Sabha and 28 assembly constituencies. Pandian called upon voters to extend their support to CM Patnaik and the BJD candidates in the upcoming elections.

In a direct jab at the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Pandian criticized the party’s failure to establish a credible chief ministerial candidate in Odisha over the past 24 years.

Furthermore, Pandian announced that CM Naveen Patnaik would unveil Biju Janata Dal’s manifesto for the upcoming general elections 2024.

With just three days remaining for campaigning in the Berhampur parliamentary constituency, Pandian acknowledged the challenge facing BJD workers in delivering the promises outlined in CM Patnaik’s manifesto to every household in the area.

Odisha is set to conduct assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously in four phases from May 13 to June 1, with the results slated to be announced on June 4.
