
Bhubaneswar: The Mohan Majhi led government on Thursday rebranded several prominent schemes that were originally introduced by the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) regime in Odisha. This rebranding marks a new chapter in the state’s governance, reflecting the current administration’s vision and priorities.
Prominent schemes have been renamed as follows:
Furthermore, the flagship investment summit ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave will now be called ‘Utkarsha Utkal’. “We are planning to attract domestic investment of over Rs. 2.5 lakh crore and FDI of over 2 billion USD to the state by 2029 through ‘Utkarsha Utkal’ summits,” stated CM Majhi, who also holds the finance portfolio, while presenting the Rs 2.65 lakh crore Odisha budget in the state Assembly.
Sharing about, Vikasit Gaon Vikasit Odisha scheme, Majhi said, “To give a major fillip to the transformation of rural areas, we have launched a new scheme, Vikasit Gaon Vikasit Odisha. The objective of the scheme is to provide urban amenities in rural areas with an outlay of Rs 1,000 crore,” Majhi emphasized.
In his budget speech, CM Majhi outlined substantial allocations for these rebranded schemes:
Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana, the state’s health assurance scheme, will be implemented in convergence with the Ayushman Bharat PM-Jay Yojana, for which Rs 500 crore has been allocated. This scheme aims to provide beneficiaries with cashless treatment facilities at both private and government hospitals.
Additionally, the Biju Setu Yojana has been renamed Setu Bandhan Yojana with an allocation of Rs 1,990 crore, and the LAccMI Scheme has been rebranded as Gramanchal Paribahan with a budget of Rs 1,085 crore.
