Odisha CM lays the foundation stone for EKAMRA Prakalp project

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, laid the foundation stone for the ambitious EKAMRA Prakalp project. The Bhumipujan ceremony commenced with grandeur and devotion as Yagna rituals took place at the Shilanyas Site, accompanied by the presence of esteemed ministers and dignitaries.

EKAMRA Prakalp, also known as the Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monuments Revival Action Plan, is a visionary initiative launched by the Government of Odisha in 2019. Covering a sprawling area of 80 acres around the sacred Shri Lingaraj Temple, this project aims to rejuvenate and restore the cultural heritage of Ekamra Kshetra.

A three-day celebration unfolded from June 26 to 28, immersing visitors and devotees in the vibrant tapestry of Ekamra Kshetra’s rich cultural heritage. The magnificence of the Lingaraj Temple, AnantaBasudeva, Mukteswar Temple, Bindu Sagar, and other smaller temples was accentuated by gentle illuminations, lending an ethereal beauty to these architectural gems. Traditional Yajna rituals further elevated the ceremonial atmosphere, creating an aura of serenity and divinity.

In addition to the religious ceremonies, attendees were treated to a captivating array of experiences. They marveled at mesmerizing sky projections, were enthralled by engaging light and sound shows, and were spellbound by captivating dance performances. An exhibition showcased the project model and informative displays, shedding light on the remarkable efforts underway within Ekamra Kshetra to preserve and revive Bhubaneswar’s architectural treasures.

The project is poised to embark on its Phase-I development, which will encompass the restoration of Ekamra Kshetra’s architectural and archaeological heritage. This transformative phase will include enhancements such as improved vehicular movement, shaded walkways, optimized pedestrian flow, relocated parking facilities, and the creation of interconnected landscaped open spaces. By seamlessly blending modern amenities with the preservation of cultural heritage, the project aims to provide a harmonious and enriching experience for both visitors and devotees, ensuring the timeless beauty of Ekamra Kshetra endures.
