Odisha CM Lays Foundation for Key Development Projects in Koraput District

Jeypore: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi dedicated several development projects and laid the foundation stones for new initiatives in Jeypore, Koraput district, on Sunday. These projects aim to boost healthcare, education, and infrastructure in the region.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the new seven-storied building of the Koraput District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), constructed at a cost of Rs 142 crore, featuring modern facilities. This facility includes seven wards with a total capacity of 300 beds, equipped with advanced amenities such as ultrasound and orthopedic services. Additionally, a blood bank from the old sub-district hospital has been relocated to the new premises.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Majhi announced that ICU facilities would be established soon. He also inaugurated the newly constructed terminal building of Jeypore Airport at a cost of Rs 52 crore, further enhancing air connectivity in the region.

The Chief Minister emphasized the state government’s efforts to provide air services linking Jeypore with other cities like Sambalpur and Rourkela, aiming to improve accessibility and boost regional development.

Additionally, the foundation stone for the Government Nursing College in Koraput was laid, set to be built at a cost of Rs 10.23 crore. This institution aims to provide professional education for young women, with guaranteed government employment for those graduating from the college.
