Odisha CM Launches Real-Time Project Monitoring Dashboard to Boost Infrastructure Governance

Bhubaneswar, : In a major step towards strengthening infrastructure governance and ensuring timely execution of development works, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched the Project Monitoring Dashboard of the Works Department at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The dashboard, powered by advanced GIS technology, is designed to facilitate real-time monitoring and seamless implementation of various infrastructure projects across the state. Speaking at the launch event, the Chief Minister said the new system would significantly enhance efficiency and transparency in project execution, addressing the delays and bottlenecks that often hindered progress due to poor information flow.

Highlighting the limitations of the earlier monitoring mechanisms, Majhi pointed out that inconsistent data sharing had slowed project work and delayed decision-making. The newly launched system aims to resolve these issues by offering updated visual access to public assets and project status, down to the district and block levels. The integration of satellite mapping will also aid in accurate site allocation, thereby improving resource management and planning.

One of the key features of the new dashboard is the inclusion of an ‘Issue Tracker’ system, which will allow for better oversight of challenges such as land acquisition, forest land clearance, and encroachments—issues that often stall critical infrastructure projects. The platform will also offer live updates on project progress, financial monitoring, and risk alerts, enabling authorities to make timely and informed decisions.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this digital intervention would usher in a new era of transparent and accountable governance in Odisha. He also announced plans to expand the dashboard for use in other departments, thereby creating a unified system for tracking infrastructure development throughout the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravathi Parida, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and other cabinet members were present at the launch. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, and several senior government officials also attended the event.
