Odisha CM Inaugurates ‘NUA Odisha Global Summit on Growth and Employment’

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to address the evolving landscape of industries and employment, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the two-day ‘NUA Odisha Global Summit on Growth and Employment’ in the city today. The summit aims to analyze trends in emerging growth sectors, industries, and skills, providing insights into necessary skill training for the youth to prepare them for the global job market.

The event saw the participation of industry representatives, stakeholders, and experts who deliberated on strategies to shape the future of the workforce and boost Odisha’s economic prosperity.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized the need for swift adaptation to the changing dimensions of the socio-economic structure, especially in the face of rapidly evolving technology. He stated that the summit serves as a platform to understand trends and set a clear path for the future of Odisha’s youth. “Transformation for us is not a choice, it’s an essentiality. Our youth must be future-ready,” he affirmed.

Standing at the crossroads of economic evolution, the Chief Minister urged industry leaders and key stakeholders to come together and deliberate on strategies that will propel Odisha towards unprecedented prosperity. He expressed hope that the summit will identify potential growth sectors, formulate workforce strategies, create innovative job opportunities, and develop skilled individuals for upcoming industries.

Minister for Skill Development and Technical Education, Priti Ranjan Ghadai, highlighted the summit’s role in helping youngsters acquire appropriate skills to stay ahead in the competitive job market.

Kartik Pandian, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman, commended Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s transformative leadership, turning Odisha into a global model in cyclone management and empowering every sector of the state. He emphasized that under the Chief Minister’s visionary leadership, the state is poised for the next stage of transformation, enabling Odisha to compete at a global level.

Odisha Skill Development Authority Chairperson Alaka Mishra and top officers of the department were also present at the inauguration ceremony. The summit is expected to pave the way for strategic initiatives that harness Odisha’s vast potential, fostering economic vibrancy and social inclusivity.
