Bhubaneswar: In a move to enhance governance and improve public service delivery, Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has directed all department secretaries to conduct weekly reviews of their respective departments. This initiative aims to ensure the efficient implementation of the Odisha Public Service Rights Act, a critical framework for addressing the needs of the common people.
Chairing a high-level meeting at Kharvela Bhawan, Ahuja stressed the importance of aligning departmental activities with the state government’s priorities. He urged departments to expedite key initiatives and adopt innovative approaches to meet governance goals.
Ahuja also emphasized the importance of the i-GOT (Integrated Governance Online Training) platform, which offers training to enhance the skills of government officers and employees. Departments were instructed to ensure 100% participation in the platform. Currently, data for over 2 lakh employees have been registered, with numbers continuing to grow.
Key programs like the ‘Water Life Forest Mission’ and preparations for flagship events such as ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ and ‘Utkarsha Odisha’ were also reviewed during the meeting. The Chief Secretary urged departments to intensify efforts to achieve tangible results under these initiatives.
The development of the ‘Vision Document’ for ‘Developed Odisha-2036’ and ‘Developed India-2047’ was another priority discussed. Ahuja instructed departments to finalize the drafts promptly, ensuring they reflect the state’s long-term aspirations. Advance preparations for the 2025-26 budget were also encouraged to streamline resource allocation and planning processes.
