Odisha Celebrates Republic Day with Grand State-Level Parade at Mahatma Gandhi Marg

Bhubaneswar: Odisha marked the 76th Republic Day with grandeur and patriotic fervor as Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati unfurled the national flag at the state-level celebrations held at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar. The event witnessed a spectacular parade and vibrant cultural performances, drawing enthusiastic crowds.

The Governor took the salute from the marching contingents during an impressive parade featuring 43 contingents, including 17 armed forces units and 26 civilian groups representing various educational institutions across the city. Participating security forces included the Odisha Police, Border Security Force (BSF), Odisha State Armed Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), among others.

A major highlight was the daredevil show by students of Maharishi College of Natural Law, which captivated the audience with its breathtaking stunts. The Odisha Skating Academy students also showcased their skills, adding energy and excitement to the celebrations.

Traditional cultural programs performed by artist troupes brought Odisha’s rich heritage to life, featuring Sambalpuri, Ghoda, and tribal dances. The inclusion of a platoon from the neighboring Jharkhand Police added an inter-state camaraderie to the occasion.

Twelve visually striking tableaux, presented by various Odisha government departments, highlighted themes centered on the state’s flagship programs. These displays illustrated the government’s developmental vision and the progress achieved in sectors like education, health, rural development, and women’s empowerment.

Governor Kambhampati extended his greetings to the citizens of Odisha through his official X handle, writing, “Celebrate the spirit of our nation and the pride of our constitution.”

In Cuttack, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unfurled the national flag and took the salute during the district-level celebrations. Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida presided over Republic Day functions in Puri and Khordha, respectively.
