Odisha Budget 2025-26: Strengthening Healthcare with Rs. 23,635 Crore Allocation

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allocated Rs. 23,635 crore for the healthcare sector in the Annual Budget 2025-26, emphasizing public health infrastructure, medical education, and essential healthcare services. The investment aims to improve accessibility, affordability, and quality of healthcare across the state.

Key Budgetary Allocations for Healthcare:

  • Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana: Rs. 6,249 crore to strengthen healthcare services.
    • Rs. 3,768 crore for establishment and operational costs.
    • Rs. 939 crore for NIRAMAYA (free medicine initiative).
    • Rs. 200 crore corpus fund for medical colleges and hospitals.
    • Rs. 229 crore for NIDAN diagnostic services.
    • Rs. 99 crore for SAMMPurNA (reducing infant and maternal mortality).
    • Rs. 270 crore for Swasthya Sahaya emergency care services.
    • Rs. 211 crore for Odisha Comprehensive Cancer Care Plan.
