Odisha Budget 2025-26: Rs. 3,962 Crore Allocated for Energy Sector

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allocated Rs. 3,962 crore for the energy sector in the Annual Budget 2025-26, focusing on power infrastructure, renewable energy, and energy security.

Key Budgetary Allocations for Energy:

  • Mukhya Mantri Shakti Bikash Yojana: Rs. 1,033 crore to enhance power distribution networks and rural electrification.
  • Mukhya Mantri Shakti Sanrakshana Abhiyan: Rs. 127 crore for energy conservation and safety initiatives.
  • Odisha Akshaya Shakti Bikash Yojana: Rs. 1,093 crore for renewable energy projects, including Rs. 890 crore for PM-Surya Ghar.
  • Share Capital Investment in OPGC: Rs. 429 crore to strengthen power generation.
  • Working Capital Loan to GRIDCO: Rs. 512 crore to improve financial stability and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
