
Bhubaneswar: To resolve the Mahanadi water dispute, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with his Odisha counterpart, Mohan Charan Majhi, at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. The meeting, held during Sai’s visit to Odisha, provided a platform for a crucial dialogue between the two leaders on the long-standing issue.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the importance of an amicable resolution, highlighting the linguistic and cultural similarities shared by the two neighboring states. Stressing the need for a swift and fair resolution, he reiterated that the interests of the citizens of both states should be prioritized.
In response, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai expressed a positive outlook, assuring his commitment to addressing the dispute through peaceful discussions. He reaffirmed his willingness to work towards a mutually beneficial resolution, reinforcing the importance of inter-state cooperation.
This meeting follows previous statements by CM Majhi, where he underscored his government’s serious approach to resolving the dispute with Chhattisgarh. The consensus between both Chief Ministers to prioritize dialogue and cooperation marks a significant step forward in settling the Mahanadi water-sharing issue, which has been a point of contention for years.
