Nominations for Second Phase of General Elections 2024 Set to Begin Tomorrow

New Delhi: The electoral process for the second phase of the General Elections 2024 is set to kick off tomorrow, as per the announcement by election authorities. The Gazette notification for 88 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) across 12 States/Union Territories (UTs) going to the polls in the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 will be issued on March 28, 2024.

Polling in these 88 PCs, along with one part PC in Manipur (Outer Manipur), is scheduled to take place on April 26, 2024. Notably, the notification for elections in the Outer Manipur PC was included in the gazette notification issued for phase 1. As per the schedule, 15 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in Outer Manipur PC will go to polls on April 19, 2024, as part of phase 1, while the remaining 13 ACs in this PC will go to polls on April 26, 2024, marking phase 2 of the elections.

The States/UTs included in Phase 2 are Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, in addition to one part PC in Manipur (Outer Manipur).

With the commencement of the nomination process, political parties and independent candidates will have the opportunity to file their nominations for contesting in the upcoming elections.
