
Faridabad: NHPC, a premier hydropower company, marked a significant milestone by successfully organizing the inaugural edition of ‘Gyanankan – The Business Quiz’ for its employees. The quiz, a part of NHPC’s Organizational Development initiatives, aimed to encourage employees to stay informed about the latest business developments, current affairs, and global advancements. It also sought to ignite the innovative and creative minds of NHPC’s workforce. The maiden edition received an overwhelming response from employees across NHPC’s regional offices, power stations, projects, and units.
The event unfolded with a preliminary round, leading to the Semi-Final and Grand Finale rounds held at the Jal Tarang Auditorium in NHPC’s Corporate Office, Faridabad. The Grand Finale featured five exciting rounds of mind-boggling quizzing action among six teams, covering topics ranging from general knowledge to the business and corporate world, captivating the audience’s attention.
The winning team of ‘Gyanankan – The Business Quiz’ comprised Smt. Rashmi Saraswat, Manager (Electrical), Design (E&M) Division, Corporate Office, and Shri Sanjeev Kumar Dhiman, AM (IT), CMD Secretariat, Corporate Office. The first runner-up team included Shri Nitin Verma, DM (HR), Finance Division, Corporate Office, and Shri Tapas Ranjan Behera, TO (HR), Loktak Power Station. The second runner-up team consisted of Shri Vijay Singh, Manager (Mech.), Salal Power Station, and Shri Devnandan Kumar, DM (Electrical), Salal Power Station.
Renowned Quizmaster Shri S.P.S. Jaggi, Former Director (P&A), SCI, conducted the Semi-Finals and Grand Finale of the quiz, adding a touch of expertise and excitement to the event.
The Grand Finale witnessed the presence of senior NHPC officers and a large number of NHPC employees. Director (Finance), NHPC, Shri R.P. Goyal, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Director (Personnel), NHPC, Shri Uttam Lal, joined via video conference mode, highlighting the significance and reach of the event across NHPC’s diverse locations.
