New Delhi: In a collaborative effort to enhance experiential learning for students, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. This five-year partnership aims to provide internship opportunities for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students across India, with a special focus on the North-Eastern region, the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The MoU was signed by Nitin Sharma, Executive Director of NHIDCL, and Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE. The signing ceremony also marked the launch of an online portal for the Internship Program, inaugurated by Dr. Krishan Kumar, Managing Director of NHIDCL, with officials from both organizations present.
Through this initiative, NHIDCL will provide programmatic and non-technical support, while AICTE will offer technical assistance for the platform, underscoring the shared commitment of both organizations to equip students with practical skills and experience. The program offers students hands-on training in areas related to national highway and infrastructure development, which is intended to support India’s skill development and employability goals.
